AQUABOARD

AquaBoard is a board recommended for use where moisture, mould and fire resistance is required.
It is composed of an additivated gypsum core reinforced with glass fibres and a yellow fibre backing on both sides of the board.

Applications:

Outdoor use:

  • Multi-layer thermal insulation wall systems
  • Ventilated lining
  • Balcony partitions
  • Suspended ceilings and canopies
  • Roof soffits
  • Structural element lining
  • Curved surfaces with a minimum radius 1.50 m

Indoor use:

  • Wall systems, suspended ceilings and wall lining in areas with high humidity (swimming pool, sauna, spa, unheated basement, car park, restaurant...)
  • Primer for ceramic tiles

Benefits:

  • Chlorine vapour resistance
  • Water resistance
  • Mold resistance
  • Easy to cut, clamp and handle
  • Technical performance
  • Durability
Reaction to fire: A2-s1,d0
Thermal conductivity: 0.25
Longitudinal breaking load: 550 N
Transversal breaking load: 250 N
Density: 860 kg/m³
Weight Per SQM: 10,8 kg/m²
Thickness: 12,5 mm
Width: 1200 mm
Board Type: GMFH1I

Handling and storage:

  • The manual transport will be done with the board on vertical position;
  • The transport of the boards placed in pallet will be done with proper transport devices (carts, forklift, trucks…);
  • The storage will be done on pallets or spacers placed at a distance of about 50 cm. The pallets will be stored on dry and smooth surfaces. This kind of storage allow the ventilation and prevent the deformation or breaking the boards;
  • tThe boards must be stored outside only protected with plastic wrapping;
  • The AquaBoard in Ventilated Claddings are guarantee up to 4 months to direct exposure to atmospheric conditions, without being protected with the render or thermoinsulation system;
  • The boards must be dry before applying different treatments on their surface (render, adhesive...). For example, is not recommended the execution of the board treatments immediately after rain;
  • The installation of the boards will be made in the temperature range of 5 - 40°C;
  • In a view to prevent water infiltration behind the cladding, and to better protect the insulation and the sub-structure, we recommend the joints hydroinsulations and joint treatement between the boards to be done not later than two weaks after the installation of the boards;
  • The boards should not be stored for long periods in direct sunlight;
  • When storing the boards it must be take into account the bearing capacity of the support floor. For example: 40 pieces of AquaBoard represent a load of about 432 kg/m² for the support floor.
